Products with skewed thread direction/weaving

Last updated on 06 Sept, 2023

Our thin 135 fabric is made with a slanted thread direction. This is done to prevent the garment from pulling crookedly in the wash. If we made these products with a straight grain direction, they would do just that. The angle of the thread direction is customized for each product. For example, our heavier fabrics (220 and 160U) are two-ply, meaning that two yarns are twisted together into one before the fabric is knitted. This means that these T-shirts can be made with a straight grain direction without being washed crooked.

The same applies to women's dresses, where we also use this technique to avoid distortion after washing.
